A great blog post about shooting photos from the hip. Obviously shooting from the hip is easier with HiLO Lens but a lot of the discussion is relevant.
I prefer wides because I like to capture as much of the scenery around my subjects as possible, close up head shots are nice and all, but street photography is about telling a story….

Street photography is about making and capturing fleeting moments of life to create a photographic record of our society. Some people won’t understand or appreciate that, but in the end, that’s no reason for accusing you of doing something wrong….
