I’m Mark the creator of HiLO lens. Don’t panic – there is a team of people working on the project.
The idea of launching a product is a strong motivation for me. It is an irresistible challenge to take an idea from concept all the way to market. With this blog, I hope to capture some of the ups and the inevitable downs.
I’ve a degree in electrical and electronic engineering. After working in New Zealand, Ireland and France for about 10 years, I invented a tool for microelectronic engineers. This led to co-founding Certess Inc. in 2003 which was sold in 2009.
This in turn led to some soul searching. One conclusion was to avoid working with too many engineers, to avoid the risk of turning into one!
The next project was pure e-commerce. Co-founding Mondizen, a store selling French products to French expats, was a big change. That company is going strong and my role is now mainly website maintenance (a first time for me).
HiLO Lens combines many things I love doing : solving unique problems, managing a team, learning a lot, and pleasing the customer. I hope the experience from Certess and Mondizen will help make HiLO Lens possible.
