Last night I had the chance to try the Jumbo restaurant in Hong Kong. It is a floating restaurant which is very well lit, we had a great time thanks to the friendly staff. The jetty for taking the short boat ride (maybe 300 meters!) adopts the same lighting style. Night shots with an iPhone without a tripod are not the easiest. So I took one with the standard settings and one with the HDR option enabled, you can compare them below.

HDR on the iPhone takes two photos each with different exposure levels then combines them to achieve a High Dynamic Range photo.

The Jumbo restaurant itself was a great opportunity to combine a ground level perspective with the iPhone’s HDR option. We could call this water level perspective!
